Lava Mocha Cafe: A Frappe Haven in Angono

Stop holding off on the whip cream and just let go of your sweet cravings once you enter Lava Mocha Cafe in Angono. Don’t be fooled by the somewhat funky though slightly tacky interiors. This cafe aims mainly for the student market from a nearby school. Prices are budget friendly yet in good portions and value. Most of all, they taste better than they are priced. But what you really come here for are the desserts.

Giant Frappes

We dined on the second floor of Lava Mocha Cafe where there were cozy couches, long table and even costume props for fun photo opportunities while waiting for our order. The place even have good wifi for those in the need for connectivity.

When our orders came, our jaws drop seeing the humongous frappe before us. The Higantes Frappe (Php 280), named and inspired by Angono’s Higantes, is a 1-liter frappe overflowing from the giant mug. It comes in strawberry, chocolate and cookies and cream flavors. This is best shared with friends lest you want to suffer some frappe coma.

DIY Frappes

One other thing unique from Lava Mocha Cafe is that they allow their customers to customize their frappes. The DIY Frappe (Php 180) allows you to make your own frappe. The first part is to choose eight goodies for the mix and they have a wide variety: marshmallows, chocolates, wafers sticks, biscuits and more. Then choose a flavor of drinks like chocolate, hazelnut, strawberry to name a few. One the frappe is served, its up to you how to place everything together in the frappe. How neat or messy, its up to you. I ended up being messy.

Beside from the frappes, Lava Mocha Cafe also serves meals. Their buffalo wings are quite good. Add in some nachos for that added crunch on the table. Lava Mocha Cafe is a fun place to be with friends and relatives. Those giant frappes sure is a show stopper and makes for a fun dining conversation and selfie subject.
