It can be a bit overwhelming to step in a buffet restaurant such as Vikings Luxury Buffet. Their extensive offerings can lead to indecisions sometimes on what to eat. Well this month of July, let happyfoodies offer some delightful suggestions. Through the cool guys from PinasMuna, I got the chance to sample their new offerings as celebration of America’s 4th of July. Starting on the said date and throughout the month, you can see these new dishes on different buffet stations, particularly in the Vikings SM City Marikina branch.
It was a Sunday afternoon when we dropped by for a taste of Louisiana-style cooking at Cottage Kitchen in Angeles City and it was empty save for just one other customer. It’s not because the food isn’t good. Far from it. It’s probably because it’s the lean season plus the overcast conditions made it conducive for diners to just stay home. Not us, since we were having a foodtrip in Angeles. We didn’t mind getting the undivided attention of the friendly staff who welcome the banter.
Hopping from a hole-in-the wall restaurant to al fresco street dining, then to a humble stall in a kopitiam and later, to an unpretentious mall restaurant, food tripping is one activity I cherish when I’m in Singapore. The food offering is so diverse I can eat different cuisines from different parts of the world depending on what my appetite dictates that day. During my week-long stay, I tried the different restaurants my friend recommended which were all good at the particular type of cuisine they serve yet inexpensive.
Right from the start, Italianni’s was among the casual dining restaurants that have become synonymous with big servings. Not to say that the food isn’t good because it really is; it’s just that people with bigger than usual appetites have always been drawn to it because of the very generous servings. The price point is okay for the kind of food and service; however, it is a bit pricey for regular dining. Italianni’s makes amends with five new menu additions just for this summer. The formula is simple: filling weekday lunch entrees and big servings (fit for sharing) complete with pasta and veggies at more affordable prices – how can you go wrong?
