Circles Event Cafe | Treasures of Turkey Buffet at Makati Shangri-La

Makati Shangri-La’s Circles Event Cafe has been offering premiere buffet experience to the metro for quite sometime already. To mix things up a bit for a little excitement, chefs from this luxury chain of 80 hotels around the world would at time visit other branches to share the flavors of their country. This month of August, until the 10th of the month, guest Chefs Harun Imre and Ramazan Edrem from Turkey, brought their 20 years of experience along with a supply of Turkish spices to give a splash of authentic Turkish flavor with the “Treasures of Turkey” in their buffet.

Dining in Boracay: Filipinized at Ka-on, Overwhelmed at Ambassador

Boracay - The Tides Lamb Shank Caldereta One of the great pleasures of revisiting Boracay is the eats.  For an island no more than 10 square kilometers, the place offers a wide range of international cuisine, establishments wooiing diners with new flavors and treats.   After the sun goes down on White Beach, it’s a heady experience wading through restos and discerning which ones are worth the visit.   I was fortunate enough to visit for a writing assignment.  Appropriately, food was the topic so even though stuffing your face day in and day out to gather notes on the food is hardly the way to really enjoy the eating experience, I’m grateful for the opportunity.  Here, I write about Ka-on and Ambassador in Paradise, two dining destinations on the island worth revisiting.

Un amore at Buon Giorno

Buon Giorno Rack of Lamb Minetrone and bruschetta so good, they inspired and conspired to make people fall in love. Veteran photographer Mark Floro tells of a food tale both incredible and romantic — of how Linda so enamored him with her renditions of Minestrone and Bruschetta that he promptly married her.

The story piqued the curiosity of your Happyfoodies so much so that when we got the opportunity to visit Buon Giorno, Mark and Linda’s Italian restaurant in Ortigas, we knew we had to order what has smitten Mark.
