Craft 1945: Spanish Cuisine and Craft Beer in Baguio

Post a Comment January 27, 2020

Braving the holiday traffic in Baguio, foodie friends, Kara, Tin and I were bent to try Craft 1945 in Baguio. A merry collaboration of Spanish food from Casa Marcos and craft beer from Baguio Craft Brewery. Set in the quiet and old town of Baguio at Outlook drive, it’s a dining experience that promises to bring the Baguio ambiance to dining like a good pair of beer and tapas.

Craft 1945

Too engaged with our juicy conversations, we almost missed the uphill turn leading up to Craft 1945. Location looks secluded from this old part of Baguio. Just taking a short walk up the hill was an old 1960 American type two-story house turned into a restaurant. It was well lit from the inside. There’s a lovely dinning area as well outside if you one doesn’t mind the cold in the evening.

I love the warm lighting and dining space. Lighting fixture was interestingly designed with ropes. The upper floor is the main dining area that spills down to the lower floor. A nice mural of a Spanish matador on the wall. A set of musical instruments are ready for an ensemble for the night.

Craft Beer

Craft beer section of the establishment is handled by Baguio Craft Brewery. I love the native designs on the taps and that we can taste the beers first before we order. They had quite a nice line and the names really correspond to their taste. Like the really light “Rolling Fog by the Hills” or the strong “English Man” and “Hop Attack”. There’s the fruity blends in the “Lagud” (strawberry) and “Keywheat” (kiwi). Since we were having dinner, I settled for the Keywheat for its balance flavor that would compliment our food. Craft beer prices vary at P190 and P210. For non-beer, the Sangria is also quite good.

Spanish Food

I love the Baby Pandesal for appetizers. We ordered extra just to smother what’s left of the sauces from the dishes we ordered. Speaking of dishes, we loved what we had. The Seafood Marinara Pasta (P250), Mushroom Adobo (P185) and Tips Ala Pobre (P350). They were all quite good, tasty and feel satisfied with the flavors. Goes so well with our craft beers.

Old world Baguio ambiance, Spanish food and excellent craft beer is what to expect here in Craft 1945. Be on watch for their specials like the P350 special lunch set with albondigas, lengua salpicao, gambas, tips ala pobre and Spanish Sisig. Such a good deal.
