It’s no secret that your happyfoodies are big fans of Amici. So when Cara Mia, its gelateria, opened in Greenhills recently, we promised ourselves to brave the EDSA-Greenhills traffic one day soon just to see what’s there. One recent Sunday, we dropped by with full tummies with barely enough room for dessert but happily, we weren’t disappointed.
Lagal[og] said: The gelateria was a nice surprise, well-lit and spanking-new, having opened only last May. Seeing all the cakes on offer, it was tempting to order one (or two, maybe three) but we were full from a late lunch so we decided on having the Affogato. I had the Choco Banana and boy, was it lush with layers of flavors in one teeny-weeny glass. The shot of espresso gave it a nice kick. The cliché goes “surprises come in small packages” and this is one nice surprise.

It’s kind of a wrong choice for me since I’m not really a coffee fan and should have tried the other fare but it looks so tempting in the photos that I had to try it. Besides, I love Black Forest. The Black Forest gelato is topped with cherry and syrup was dripping down to the base of the glass. There’s a small pastry at the bottom. All I can say that the taste is really rich and strong. It’s probably best to pour in the shot of espresso. The signature gelato taste from Amici is still there but added a tasty variety which is a welcome surprise.

I just gained 5 lbs just by looking at your devilishly good captures.
Photo Cache, believe me, ang sarap ng affogato. Amici’s desserts are really well worth the trip naman talaga. I highly recommend them.
Hi. Is this near the Promenade in Greenhills? If I will commute, how do I get to Cara Mia? Thanks. Coz i’m not familiar with the Missouri Bldg.
