Food is the best thing to have ever been invented. Not just because we need it to survive, but because it tastes so good. With a world as vast and varied as ours, the types of foods available are extremely diverse. In fact, the best thing about entering a different country is trying the local cuisine.

Unless you are a dedicated foodie though, you won’t have tried the food from every country you should experience. Especially considering how hectic our lives are. Sometimes we’d rather chill out on partypoker or read a book than stand up and cook. So which countries food could you be missing out on?

Mexico – Mexican food can be spicy, sour and sweet, but it’s nearly always delectable. From tacos to quesadillas, a small bite is enough to transport you to the streets of Mexico. And the ingredients can be found anywhere if you wanted to make your own.

Italy – Italian food is the true flavour of the Mediterranean and is responsible for some of the most classic pasta dishes you’d love. From spaghetti, to pizza, to mozzarella cheese, you can’t beat a night out for an Italian meal.

England – English food gets a lot of stick, but people aren’t eating the right foods. A full English breakfast, fish and chips, roast dinner, shepherds pie, toad in the hole, Cornish pasties; all classic English meals that need to be tried.

China – Who doesn’t like sour chicken and egg fried rice? The Chinese have the uncanny ability to make spice and sweetness mix together in a pot of genius. The best Chinese food is of course in China itself though.

La Cocina Paella Valenciana from Tita Moning

Spain – One word: paella. If paella is your first experience of Spanish food, you will never want to go back. Their rice based dishes are exquisite, and are easily copied in your own kitchen. Their seafood dishes are amazing too.
