Poco Deli | Bacon Like no Other and More

Post a Comment September 03, 2013

I will never look at bacon the same way again. While I love my thin, crisp and crunchy bacon, the savory thick slabs of cooked bacon at Poco Deli changed my cholesterol-charged preference. The Bacon Slab (Php 320), coupled with bacon rice (bits of bacon on rice) and sunny side-up egg on top have a really intense flavor that I was at a loss for words to describe it.  It's just pure enjoyment with every bite. I tell you, Poco Deli is a haven for bacon lovers and it is found on this artisan sausage deli in Kapitolyo, Pasig. But the fun doesn't stop there as we tried their other offerings begging to steal your attention.

We have to try the sausages, so we ordered a German Sausage and Cheese Platter (SIngle: Php 340/ Double: Php 550). We chose the Keilbasa, Chicken and Nurnberger for the sausages then the goat cheese, manchego and emmental. The smokey dry flavor of the Kielbasa blends well with the emmental cheese for me. I liked the distinct aftertaste of the menchego cheese which complements the juicy flavor of the smaller Nurnberger sausage.

I had to dig deeper to find the flavor of the Irish Beef Stew (Php 300). This one was simmered for hours in dark beer which is why the beef was really tender. The caramel flavored sauce is something that gets better with every sip. We also got the Quattro Carne Pizza (Php 380) which includes four sausages: Florentina, Bratwurst, Kielbasa and Frankfurter on a generous layer of Mozarella cheese. It seems that the pizza was lathered in oil, but the thin crust and meaty flavor was evident with every bite.

To cap it all off, we had the Blackout Chocolate Cake (Php 155). It has a delectable layer of mini chocolate kisses on top of moist chocolate cake. I like the fact that it's not that sweet yet has that full-flavored goodness chocoholics like me crave for.
